How it works?
With proven methodologies and a tailored approach, we’ll guide you through the entire process step by step—from data collection to recommendations for reducing emissions. The calculations are based on international standards (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) and adapted to the Slovak agri‑food sector.
Your next steps to calculate your carbon footprint
1. Submit your interest
Fill out the form: "I am interested in calculating my carbon footprint." This will register you for the Decarb Track - Low-Emission Future project.
2. Registration confirmation
After submitting the form, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application.
3. Contacting after the service starts
Once the calculator is launched, we will contact you by email in January 2026 with next steps and access to a detailed carbon footprint calculation form.
4. Priority access to the tool
As a registered participant, you will receive priority access to the new carbon footprint calculation tool and be among the first to use its functionalities.
What will you need?
Basic data required to calculate the carbon footprint.
Basic company information
- Company ID, company name
- Financial statements: income statement, balance sheet
- Number of employees
- Industry sector
Energy and fuel consumption
- Electricity consumption (kWh, possibly broken down by source - mix, green energy)
- Fossil fuel consumption: petrol, diesel, natural gas, coal (in liters / m³ / kg)
- Emissions from operational buildings (e.g., heating, cooling systems, own generators)
Transport and logistics
- Number of vehicles, types (passenger, freight, tractors, agricultural machinery)
- Fuel consumption by vehicle fleet
- Kilometers driven
- External transport (subcontractors, transport services)
Consumption and waste
- Water consumption (m³/year)
- Waste production (t/year) + breakdown by type (biological, plastic, paper, metals...)
- Waste management method (recycling, incineration, landfill, composting)
Production and inputs
- Purchased raw materials, goods and services (e.g., packaging, feed, fertilizers, packaging materials)
- Approximate volumes or purchase expenditures
- Basic output/product data (type, quantity, packaging)
Specific data for agri-food industry
- Fertilizers - types and quantities of fertilizers used (nitrogen, phosphorus, organic, digestate...)
- Pesticides and agrochemicals - types and quantities of products used
- Enteric fermentation - numbers of livestock by species, method of breeding and feeding
- Purchased food inputs - raw materials and semi-finished products (milk, meat, cereals, oilseeds...), including origin and quantity
What do you get after the calculation?
Get data that carry weight and that you can use in multiple areas.
Detailed carbon footprint report
A clear deliverable prepared in line with GHG Protocol standards, broken down into Scope 1, 2, and selected Scope 3 categories. Enables you to identify the main emission sources and compare them by activity type.
Energy intensity information
A calculation showing how many emissions your company produces per unit of output (e.g., per 1 tonne of product, per €1 of revenue, or per employee). Allows you to track production efficiency and set improvement targets.
Results confirmation
A certificate of carbon footprint calculation in accordance with the GHG Protocol methodology—suitable for communication with business partners, public procurers, or banks.
Inputs for decision-making and ESG reporting
Data you can use when preparing your ESG report, responding to client or financial institution requirements, and when seeking financing opportunities on advantageous terms.
